Umicore delivers products for use in the agro industry. Three main applications can profit from our products:
Animal feed: cobalt is an essential compound in the animal feed industry, where it is a building block and promotor for the synthesis of vitamin B12 in ruminants such as sheep and cattle.
Fertiliser: cobalt is added in fertiliser used on meadow on which ruminants graze in order to induce B12 production.
Water treatment: cobalt can be added as compound in products used for water treatment.
Umicore offers a broad range of cobalt salts, such as cobalt carbonate (46% or 52%), cobalt sulphate (33%), cobalt acetate and cobalt chloride which can be used as compounds in the agro industry.
