High Density Materials
With a density of 19.3 g/cm3, Tungsten is one of the most dense materials. This physical property makes tungsten a valuable material in a lot of applications. Weights, vibration dampening, crankshaft balancing, oscillating masses in watches, high-density plastics,…are made of tungsten-based materials. Powder is shaped by Press & Sinter, Metal Injection Molding, or additive manufacturing.
Umicore supplies:
- Fine, medium-sized, and coarse tungsten powders from 1.5 µm to 25 µm with an excellent grain size distribution and a low level of impurities
- “Ready to press” high-density powders containing tungsten, Nickel, Copper, Iron or Cobalt. Customized formulations are produced on demand.
