Low-toxic Bismuth-based Catalyst with 10% Metal Content

VALIKAT Bi 1010 MC2 is a bismuth-based metal carboxylate with 10% Bi content. The product is mainly used as a catalyst in polyurethane applications, accelerating the urethane reaction (i.e., the reaction between the isocyanate and polyol). It has improved hydrolytic stability and a low free-acid content. Compared to other, traditional, metal-based catalysts, such as lead- and mercury-based products, or organotin compounds such as DiButylTin DiLaurate polyurethane catalysts (DBTL), it offers a sustainable alternative thanks to its low toxicity and environmentally friendly nature.
